Rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it.
But what does it mean?
Did you know anyone can call themselves a Career Advisor / Career Coach (actually this also applies to Counselling which is a bit worrying). They aren’t regulated professions in the same way as say Nurses / Doctors / Electricians / Teachers are.
This is not me dissing other Career Advisors / Coaches (everyone I’ve met in the profession are all people I’d highly recommend, registered or not).
But the CDI Register of Career Development Professionals verifies that the Career Professionals on it have undertaken appropriate education, have signed up to a Code of Ethics, and are engaging in ongoing Continuous Professional Development. So it gives clients more reassurance as to my background and training.
I still highly recommend anyone thinking of working with a Career Coach / Advisor starts with a compatability call to ensure working together is a good fit, and that the client will get what they want out of the partnership. You can book in for a free 15 minute chat with me here.
I specialise in helping people choose their career direction, write amazing CVs, cover letters and applications and prepare to excel and enjoy interviews.
