A number of parents have reached out to me recently for help with their senior cycle students’ subject choices. I developed this free workbook to help guide subject choices.
Students will reflect on the following key criteria to help their decisions, in an easy to follow, structured approach:
- Subject enjoyment
- Anticipated grades
- Any subject conflicts (e.g. subject combinations not available)
- Language, Science, Maths considerations for future career options and CAO courses
The workbook also provides links to a number of useful external resources that can feed into subject choice (like grade distribution of the different subjects, CAO points calculator and a free career exploration tool).
