Career Report & Debrief – Leaving Cert Students
I have developed the Career Report & Debrief package as a once off session designed to make a lot of progress in achieving career clarity for students. I operate on a pay as you go basis. Often the Career Report & Debrief is sufficient to help students understand the next steps to take, and students are enabled to do this independently. Students are always welcome to come back for follow on sessions if they require them.
What is involved?
- Students take a 20-30 minute online questionnaire about their transferable skills, work type preferences and work values. They are also asked questions about other factors that might impact their career (e.g. geographical preferences, flexibility, income, etc.) and also any options they are current interested in.
- Within 10 minutes of completing the online questionnaire, both the student and I get emailed a copy of their Career Report (approx. 30 pages). I recommend students do the questionnaire at least a day before our conversation, as this allows us both a chance to read through the career report in advance of the session.
- We then have a 90 minute online scheduled conversation, where we use the Career Report to support the conversation, allowing us to make much more progress than we would otherwise.
- In the conversation, I always start the call asking the student what they want to get out of the 90 minute discussion, but this is often coming up with a number of career options, and also an action plan for them to continue working on. Often we would discuss action points like researching what people have gone onto do in their career after a particular career course, and how to do this, and reaching out and trying to talk to some people who have gone down certain career paths to get a deep understanding of what it involves – which can really help in good career decision making.
- I follow up the call with a detailed report summarizing the conversation, the career options discussed and also the action plan agreed.
What does it cost?
- I offer a discounted price of €175 for full time students (typical price €190)
How do I book?
- When booking this service, you schedule a time that suits you for the debrief session. In the confirmation email you will get a link to complete the Career Report test in advance and a link for the video session which you will click at the scheduled time.
Important note:
If booking this service on behalf of your child – please discuss with them in advance how they will share information with you as I offer a confidential session for all clients using my services. In my experience students are usually more than happy to share information with their parents who are often a great support in their career development journey. Parents are welcome to be present for the duration of the coaching session – please discuss and agree with your child in advance of the session.
